Cashiers,
pronounced “Cash’ers”, is best described
as a tranquil getaway located high in the mountains
of southwestern North Carolina. Located near the spot
that North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina meet,
Cashiers is surrounded by mountains rising to 5,000
feet, picturesque tiny towns, lush forests, cascading
waterfalls, rushing streams and wildflowers. If this
sounds unbelievable — wait until you see it. The
Cashiers area is pristine, and it contains some of the
most beautiful waterfalls in the country.
The best known are Bridal Veil Falls,
Dry Falls and Whitewater Falls, the highest falls in
the eastern United States. In Cashiers you can hike
a forest trail, raft the nearby Nantahala and Ocoee
Rivers, go mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking, play
a friendly game of tennis or golf. The town of Cashiers
has a two-acre Village Green, with walking paths and
a pavilion. Small shops offer North Carolina arts and
crafts, antiques, handmade furniture and gourmet food.
Dine on mouthwatering cuisine as you watch
the sun set over the mountains. Cashiers is a delightful
experience, and one that should be discovered at your
own pace.
